06-10-2021. Approval has been given to purchase an Agilent 8890/7000D GC-MS/MS system for our analytical lab. Way to go!
06-01-2021. A Capacity Building Grant proposal idea that led by Dr. Ali Taheri at Tennessee State University, with Dr. Yang as one of the Co-PDs, has been given the approval to go for the full proposal drafting.
05-10-2021. Our lab is open now for application to fill in 2 – 3 research positions for a funded CBG project in Dr. John Yang’s lab. The successful applicant(s) will be co-advised by Dr. Qingbo Yang and Dr. John Yang throughout the project. All levels of applicants, including undergraduate, graduate (M.S.) and Postdoc, are warmly welcome!
05-07-2021. Dr. Qingbo Yang has been designated together with Dr. El-Dweik as the instructors of the summer cohort at Lincoln University held by the NSF I-Corps Missouri S&T Site.
04-20-2021. Just had a wonderful protective maintenance (PM) service for our UHPLC-MS/MS system, hot for the up-coming methods establishments!
04-14-2021. We’re warmly welcoming the on-boarding of our second lab member, Kabita Bhusal. She is also a junior student and will work on developing sensor modules and cell models for funded and upcoming projects.
04-05-2021. The ABL wants to warmly welcome our first lab member, Brittney Sauer, a Junior student at Lincoln University. She will work as undergraduate researcher in the lab and participate in the funded Evans-Allen project once the hiring process is done.
04-01-2021. Our lab has secured two lab spaces in the newly established Dickinson Research Center (DRC) and they will be the new locations to house our current UHPLC-MS/MS system and the upcoming GC-MS/MS system. The DRC is officially open as of today! This expanding will also strengthen our instrumental analysis capability of our Cooperative Research Program in the College of Agriculture, Environmental and Human Sciences at Lincoln University.
03-25-2021. Our DOE full proposal (Dr. Yang serves as Co-PI) aims to develop innovative photoacoustic sensors has been submitted. Finger crossed!

02-05-2021. Our first project (Evans-Allen) titled “EOT-SERS Portable Detector and High-Throughput Metabolomics Methods for Intelligent Sensing of Foodborne Pathogens” has been funded by USDA NIFA !
01-22-2021. Our Pre-proposal in collaboration with Dr. Mina Esmaeelpour at Missouri S&T has been selected by the DOE and a full proposal submission is encouraged ! Deadline is set at March, 25th.
01-15-2021. One of the recently submitted manuscript titled “Fiber Bragg Grating Embedded Smart Helmet for Real-Time Impact Sensing and Analysis through Machine Learning” has been accepted for publication by the Journal of Neuroscience Methods.
